A wonderful life doesn’t just happen

A life filled with wonder doesn’t just happen—we have to make it happen for ourselves. Indeed, that’s where the real magic happens. When we uncover what we want and how we want our lives to take shape, we begin to see the wonder all around us. One of the best ways to harness that wonder is to actually do the things we say we want to do. That’s where strong routines come in, and this Rituals & Habits roundup highlights my best practices.

Over the years, I’ve worked at creating strong and sustainable rituals and habits for myself—this stuff does not come naturally to me. Here I share what I’ve learned—from developing a strong morning rituals practice to creating a vision for my life, and even taking care of all of the little things that crop up along the way.

Long Afternoon Walks Restore Focus

I’d meant to post on long afternoon walks a couple of weeks ago, but then it got so snowy and cold. And then Ollie didn’t feel well. So it didn’t seem right. Yesterday afternoon, though, while a bit gray, was finally warm. What a perfect day to take back up my favorite pandemic self-care activity
