What a Wonderful Week recaps the week in post and shares tidbits from the week that was. Some weeks are a bit of a slog. Good thing there’s a Summer Bucket List to inspire. This post may contain affiliate links, meaning that I get a commission if you take advantage of the offer (thank you!).

It’s been a bit of a slog

Do you ever just have one of those weeks when you just don’t wanna? I had one of those this week. I’m choosing to blame the weather—we had thunderstorms and rain for much of the week, but I’m tired. I managed to push through things, and I’m glad that I did, but it was a slog.

It’s time for some summer fun, methinks! I have just the thing in this week’s posts.

The Week in Posts

Live: Summer Bucket List

Earlier this week, I shared my Summer Bucket List. It’s all about becoming a summer person once more. I was serious about watching Jaws from the pool. I got this awesome float and a projector. I’m thinking tonight might be the night for it. If you hear wild shrieks of gleeful terror, it’s me.

Travel: Day Trip to Central Montenegro

If you’re headed to coastal Montenegro, you absolutely must take this day trip inland. Your jaw will drop (so will your heart as you twist and turn along the Kotor Serpentine). This was an absolute highlight of my trip.

Sundry Wonders: Showing Up and Binning It

A few snaps from the week and thoughts on showing up anyway.

Reading more fiction is on my Summer Bucket List (preferably poolside), and I’ve just cracked open Lessons in Chemistry, by Bonnie Garmus (affiliate link). I suspect that I’m going to be up way past my bedtime tonight. I’m about twenty pages in, and I am regretting every second I didn’t spend starting this book because I couldn’t get past its cover.

Summer Hours

Partly to make time for all the summer fun on my bucket list and partly to make further improvements to the site, we’re going to be on a summer hours schedule through mid-August. Most posting will focus on travel and recipes, with a Sundry Wonders post as the spirit moves.

Here are the posts for the coming week.

  • Eat
    • A throwback summer salad with blueberries will be up on the blog later on today (apologies for the delay—comforting Ollie during thunderstorms overtook my cooking time). This one’s perfect for just you, but it also scales up nicely for a summer party
    • A no-cook dessert with summer fruit and a bonus recipe for subscribers
  • Travel—One of my favorite day trips ever in North Montenegro. Editing the photos for this one has me really jealous of a couple of friends headed there this summer!

Until then, I hope you had a better week!
