What a difference a week makes
Last week at this time, I’d just arrived in Dubrovnik from Montenegro and was having a scamper about that beautiful city before heading off the next day to Split. I’ll be here for through the end of the month.
I like it here in Split. I’m just outside the Old Town, close enough to be able to check out Diocletian’s Palace or have a sunset beer on the Riva, Split’s beautiful waterfront pedestrian boulevard, in minutes, but that I am staying where you can hear Croatian being spoken, as opposed to German or English. It’s the best of both worlds, so far as I’m concerned.
I’m also enjoying having more space, with a glorious view of the Old Town (which, again, I’m afraid that I’ll have to wait to share with you). I have a window desk, which I’m sitting at as I write this post. I miss the guesthouse and the family from Montenegro. Still, though, change is good.
Travelogue, a new feature!
If you’ve been reading along, you may have noticed a new feature this week: my Travelogue. I’ve been keeping one all along, but I thought that it might interest you to hear a bit more about what my experiences are like here, so I thought that I’d share it on the blog. These are informal posts, and they’ll vary in length, but I hope that you’ll enjoy them. I’d love to hear what you think.
Upcoming
- In Travel, we’ll have day trips from Kotor, as well as a Travelogue post or two
- In Eat, I’m going to share a one-pan recipe that’s easy to make while you’re traveling but is just a little bit fancier than the standard fare
- We’ll have a Sundry Wonders, of course
Until then, catch up on posts below!
