Statue of St George and the Dragon
Why You'll Love It
You’ll see this statue as you enter the Stone Gate, a medieval knight atop a dead dragon in stone. The statue was created in the 1930s and has been in this location since 1994.
This statue is considered interesting, as it depicts the dragon as dead, as opposed to in battle, and because St George has taken off his helmet and is having a moment’s reflection.
