The site of many of my childhood birthday parties, I still love a trip to the Kellerhaus. The highlight is the make-your-own sundae bar with homemade ice cream and toppings, where you should lose all sense of decorum and load it up.

Should you require yet more sugar, there’s a cute candy shop, and loads of gifts. If you’re visiting Weirs Beach, don’t miss this.

Know Before You Go

This place can get packed in the summer, so you might want to plan to visit at an off-peak time. There are outdoor tables, but it’s a lot more fun to sit in the main dining room
