Coyoacán Walking Tour with Frida Kahlo Museum

Getting tickets to the Frida Kahlo Museum, an absolute must for any trip to CDMX, can prove tricky. Skip the line and experience so much more with this outstanding walking tour of one of Mexico City’s most charming neighborhoods.

Experience Coyoacán from its earliest days as a settlement on the shores of Lake Texcoco, seeing a house said to date back to Hernán Cortés, and one of the oldest chapels in all of Mexico.

Eat at local markets, including some of the best tostatas in the city, before your final stop at the Frida Kahlo Museum, where you can stay as long as you’d like (tip: grab a drink at the café and enjoy the courtyard, a highlight of the museum).

My guide on this tour was a PhD candidate in cultural preservation, and she grew up in Coyoacán. While you may have a different guide, I think this speaks to the quality of the tour organizer. Just go. It’s fun, educational, and delicious. What more can you ask for?
