Statue of Dora Krupićeva

Literary statue embedded at the Stone Gate

Absolutely Wonderful

Why You'll Love It

Zagreb has so many interesting statues, and this is one of them. the statue of Dora Krupić, a character in the Goldsmith’s Treasure, a nineteenth century novel. In the novel, Dora lived near the stone gate.

The statue shows Dora holding keys, as her father held the keys to the gate. It was created by Ivo Kerdić in the late 1920s. Honestly, I assumed that it was religious in nature, but I love that it’s literary.
