Saint Domnius Cathedral/Diocletian’s Mausoleum

Diocletian should have been nicer to the Christians

Absolutely Wonderful

Why You'll Love It

Diocletian intended this structure to be his mausoleum. Alas, the Christians he persecuted had the last laugh, because it became a cathedral in honor of a bishop he had killed. St Domnius Cathedral is considered to be the oldest cathedral still in its original building.

Know Before You Go

Price of admission is included in a visit to Diocletian’s Palace. Buy your ticket in the Treasury. Climbing the tower is a separate ticket, and do note that the stairs are a little iffy. Hopefully this doesn’t need to be explained, but you need to be wearing more than a bathing suit to enter (seriously, there’s a sign, so people have tried it).
