An espresso machiatto at a Zagreb café in Flower Square. The table has a red star, and the black chairs are draped with red blankets. A man reading is visible in the background, as are other patrons.

Why You'll Love It

This café lined square, named officially for a Croatian poet, unofficially for flower vendors, is the place to be Saturday late morning until early afternoon. Put on your good clothes, and find a café table to see and be seen.

Know Before You Go

The cafés themselves are mostly so-so, but it’s a great place to people watch. If you need groceries or anything else, there’s a decent-sized shopping mall across from the statue honoring Petar Preradović (they have bathrooms, too).
