Remanant of a Benedictine monastery

Why You'll Love It

My first morning in Split, I set out on a stroll, and this looming bell tower was one of the first things that I saw, just before the Golden Gate. It is all that remains of a medieval monastery that later became a convent. The church mostly burned in the nineteenth century, before being totally destroyed in World War II.
