A year into social distancing, I miss the bustle of my neighborhood. It’s become so quiet.
Saturday night, I yelled out at a couple of college students who were having the world’s loudest drunken conversation at two a.m. They apologized and stopped, and the silence hit me. I almost called out again asking them to continue.
One day, we’ll have a cacophony again.
And until then I’ll walk in the quiet and observe trees and rooftops.
