You can’t miss Ban Jelačić Square. Literally. This grand square impresses with its beautiful nineteenth-century buildings and buzzing activity. The square is named for a Croatian military hero, and you can say hello to his statue in the center of the square.
This is a major stop on the metro, a good meeting place, and many events, like Advent Zagreb, happen here.
How To Get There

I didn’t actually *do* too much in this immediate area, other than to look around and take in the bustle of the city. This is an area to watch your belongings, but it’s otherwise nice to be in a big crowd and feel safe as houses.
