Why You'll Love It
Grand squares, stunning nineteenth-century architecture, pedestrian thoroughfares distinguish Lower Town from Zagreb’s medieval beginnings. Make sure to stroll the Green Horseshoe parks and eat and drink to your heart’s content.
For the purposes of this guide, Lower Town is anything below Ilica.
How To Get There
Solo Female Travel
I loved exploring Lower Town on my own, and I think you will, too. More time to check out interesting building details and duck into shops and cafés. Zagreb is a safe city, but this is a busy area, so do take care with your belongings and don’t leave them unattended.
Know Before You Go
Lower Town sustained damage in the 2020 earthquake, but not nearly as much as Upper Town. Still, it’s a good idea to check and confirm that destinations are accessible and expect that there could be detours, etc.
